Why do the people put wider tyres (for example: 205 cm wide instead of 195 cm wide) when authorized services do not recommend such modifications? Which parts of car can you damage by doing this?

I do it for grip.
My car was issued with 185/65/R15 Conti EcoContact tyres, mainly for fuel economy.

I now run 225/45/ZR16 tyres because I prefer a wider track, more grip, and the overall look.

205 cm ? Now that is some serious wide tyre , im not sure if they sell this wide yet. With this width , u dont need two tires , only one.

my Range Rover only has skinny 29.5cm tyres a fraction of those bad boys

295cm tyre?

Tyre sizing is always a compromise, and ideally you would run a different tyre in different situations. But the optimum size is generally going to be the once that the car left the factory with as that is what it was road tested with when it was designed and therefore matches the suspension settings etc. As regards wider tyres giving more grip - maybe when it's dry, but they will give less grip when its wet (more prone to aquaplaning) and definately less when there is ice or snow on the road (hence proper winter tyres being relatively skinny).
