MB C220
I have purchased a new MB from stock. But had I have ordered it from scratch I would have asked for no badge option. Will the dealer de badge it before I collect it?

They might, but they are most likely to advise you that if the paint work gets damaged in process - this will be down to you and your request.

I had most of my cars de-badged and none of them ever got scratched in process, so you should be alright there.

Just do it yourself.

Hot day, fishing wire, comes right off.

Yes they will do it for you. I've had it done by the dealer a few times and also done it myself lots of times.

Or---- hair dryer+dental floss= same thing really.

Had the dealer take off the BLUETEC badge before I picked a new car up

Ask them.

The only time I asked for this the (non-MB) dealer was happy to do it.

It's a pretty trivial job on a new car as there's no buildup of old polish/grime/etc around the badges to remove afterwards. 10 minutes, tops, with some dental floss ... I was able to 'roll' the tape residue off the bodywork afterwards so no solvents/polish/etc. needed at all.

Like gIzzE says, a couple feet of fishing line under each letter and pull across.

It's REALLY easy on a brand new car, you wont even need to warm it up.

Impossible to do any damage at all unless you try using a screwdriver :)

Keep the letters and clean the adhesive rubberised tape off the backs.

Then you can refix at sale time using masking tape as a straight edge and small blobs of clear impact adhesive like Bostick.

Mine did it upon request before collection.

No scratches.

Mine was de-badged and I had them put back on - different, me .
