Windscreen Chip :-(

Thanks to all for the advice.

@ Alex - I was also thinking along the lines that some headlamp covers might be the way to go - certainly for motorway journeys. How easily removable are they for cleaning / quick removal purposes ?

S.

Easy enough to remove, however they're a bit fiddly to replace. The single top clip simply slots through a narrow aperture in the cover and the lower two fixings use thumbscrews (through small holes in the cover) which fasten into small metal clips. The 'problem' is that these lower clips slide underneath the trim betweem headlight and bumper, and once the thumbscrews are removed (or even loosened) these clips begin to slide about all over the place.

At the end of the day, I'm talking minutes and not hours here, but the design could have been made a little better for removal/replacement purposes.

I'll update in a few minutes with a close-up photo of the fixings f.y.i.

Best regards,

Alex

 Dohhhhhhhhhh

Just been out for the photo shoot in rain, wind and freezing conditions. Took relevant close-up photos of h/lamp cover clips on and off car. Come back inside, made cup of tea, downloaded said photos from camera to PC, spent 20 minutes adding text boxes to photos for simplicification, uploaded to this site and........"the file you are trying to upload is larger than 100KB".

.......Forgot to lower resolution on camera prior to starting it all!

Oh well, here we go again.

 Dohhhhhhhhhh

UPDATE 1: Second shoot just completed. Even wetter, colder and windier than before! Repeat of above procedure undertaken, downloaded to PC, PC says filesize is 108Kb/113 per photo (that's with camera set at minimum res.), tried to upload here but the servers are having none of it. In the process of replacing a h/lamp cover, I lost one of the rubber washers from the fixing! Kettle's on again, slippers on again, camera put away....going to bed!!! Patience is usually one of my virtues but.....enough is enough :(

UPDATE 2: Out of bed now. This has been bugging me and I can't sleep!! Cracked the problem thanks to LotusMark. I needed an independent FTP server and found I have a 50Mb one on BT Yahoo. So, here goes:

Still can't seem to get the photos on here, but hope the links will be sufficient.

Cheers!

Wrong side for you Sym, but worth a go for someone as a spare.

Drivers side 202 headlamp glass

No good for me as I presume Xenon lens is different.
