02 E320 CDI Estate. My front and rear windscreen washers are not working.
When I press the button to squirt the washers nothing happens.

There is no sound coming from the washer motor and no washer fluid is being used. The pipes are all intact.

At first I thought it was the recent frosts but that is not the case.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

check the fuses , mine will blow if i push them a lot when frozen

Tis not the fuses but thanks anyway.

Looks like another trip to the dealers then!

I've got the same problem

You're sure there is no possibility of icing in the system?

If the screen wash fluid surrounding the impeller is iced up, the motor cannot turn, therefore you won't hear it! (I have experience of this in a previous motor ownership.)

Just a thought...

Does anything come out of the Jets if you hold the washer down for 10 secs?

Having recently had a Courtesy Check at a Main Dealer it was suggested that my washer nozzles were blocked, possibly due to use of Non MB Fluid.
Assured them this was not the case as they said it was £45 for new nozzles. Did a bit of cleaning myself and now all ok. Maybe try that first?

In frosty weather the pipe on one of the nozzles can force itself off...this will mean no water coming out of any. Simple push back on.

Careful they have the non return valves built into the washer jets

A needle carefully inserted into the nozzle solved my problem on another (non-MB) car recently.

Open the bonnet and give the washer pump motor a tap with a hammer. It just maybe a bit sticky

I solved my washers-not-working-at-all problem today, when I found the other 2 fuses associated with the system.. the ones under the bonnet.

A dose of RTFI !!
