Dare I use auto glass to change the screen on my R129?
Anything I should watch with care?

There fine, not a problem.
Its the guy on the day, I had no problems and they use a wire to cut the rubber seal, nice clean job.

It doesn't matter so much which company you use, it is the screen that is important. The copy screens are a nightmare. I had two copies replaced in my previous S210. LINK.

Unfortunately, the previous owner of my present 210 had a copy screen fitted and it is positively a distraction because of the goldfish bowl effect. Same as the other screens, but I doubt I can change the screen because I don't know who installed it and I think the screen loses any sort if guarantee when a vehicle changes hands.

Autoglass (and I suspect the other windscreen company's) know about the inferior quality between an original and copy screen, but one makes for a high profit and the other doesn't.
