odd weather today

washed the cars this morning in a (long sleeved) t shirt and sun shine

Went out to pick up daughter from work and the sky went dark
It started hailing / almost sleeting and the CLK said it dropped from 10c to 3c!

The road looked like it was covered in snow and it was icy all the way home - like driving on mini marbles.

A few people were having a sideways moment in the estate (but everyone was driving slowly I am glad to see), however, the CLK in its Hankook winters that it has had on through this late summer December we've had wasn't distracted from doing anything apart from doing exactly as I told it to.

No break of traction (and I wasn't crawling), the normal, good push up the hill to the close (where I the C220 wouldn't all those years ago).

Their first real test this crazy winter, but it seems they do the job (better than the BMW in front of me who did have an amount of slip up the hill)

Happy:rock:

Well, I had my first experience of a RWD car with winter tyres having got back from skiing on Thursday. Whilst there were a few slightly sideways moments going round hairpins on the road up the mountain I didn't need to put chains on and there were no buttock-clenching moments while braking either:

first time I've had winter tyres, they ride rougher, and seem much harsher than the normal tyres on normal roads. (Both Continental, Continental Winter Vs Continental)

Strangely, I found the Nokian tyres I put on mine were much smoother and quieter than the Conti 5Ps that are normally on it.

That's a great price for Alloys & Tyres . :thumb:

That's cause you got off Contis!

Contis are a very hard and unforgiving tyre compared to the competition these days.

I had Conti Winter Sports a few years back and that was the first time a winter had felt harder and noisier than the summers they replaced.

Wow! What a great price. Can I ask which dealer is offering this?

Cheers

I bought from MB Sandown group
Mercedes-Benz Set of 4 Winter Wheels & Tyres - C-Class - Q44054111002E

It's for older Continental T830p tyres - 70% off clearance.
If you want the alloy design there are some at the dealers but at £1000 a set of 4 at 50% off.
I believe these may be shod with the newer T850 which would explain slight cost differential? But check.

Other deals here
Sandown Dorset and Wiltshire Limited | Winter Wheels & Tyres - 50% OFF

Bugger!

Out of stock!
