I'm thinking of buying these E-Class seats to fit in the front of my 2008 Vito.

There's a slight adjustment to the seat runners that I can handle, but it's the wiring that will have me stumped I would think.

Will I be able to get these seats to operate electrically, (It doesn't really matter if the heated function works or not ) and if so, how big a job is it likely to be?

TIA.

Paul.

I would not bother with them, they look a bodge job.

Just go for one Recaro, far better, and it has low side so you can still get in the van.

The problem lies in getting hold of the comfort leather seats (be it a drivers seat or all five).
The chances of finding the seats on the used market is slim and I suspect the cost of even one seat from a dealership will be in excess of £600.

I personally think all of the seats are too firm, but the idea of changing just the drivers seat to a Recaro and then trimming the rest to suit would be too expensive.
The idea behind the E-Class seats is to use them until I find the original set of five comfort seats.

I did contact Mercedes Manchester yesterday for some prices, but they insist I already have the comfort leather seats and can't find a price for any other type in leather.
The only reason I can think of, for them say that, is that the van may have had the comfort seats originally but these were changed before I bough it (the people I bought from did own several black Vito's), but I'd bet on that being highly unlikeley.

My Vin number is: WDF63960123424928. Can anyone bring up my datacard, please?

Thanks.

Paul.

Your vin shows the car had 'Comfort' left and right front seats at build date.

I'll mail you the complete datacard later cos it takes a bit of time to colate.

I would think the wiring might prove impossible cos of the canbus links to do with airbags etc.

Thanks for that, Derek. :thumb:

Paul, trim the other way round, keep the stock vito trim and cover one Recaro the same.
You can pick up seats easy on ebay.

Those e class seats are the easiest to wire up as the switches are built in and you have manual seat runner adjustment. I don't know if your 639 needs the occupancy sensor wired up, but the rest is just an ignition switched live that you can fuse through a vacant slot in your existing fuse box. Definitely not rocket science once you get into it.
Source, fitted one of these in a sprinter van. Took it out as it left me with too little leg room.

Druk is correct about the comfort seats which the van does have.

However, the existing seats are 'leatherette' and not real leather, which are appreciably softer.
The cost from the dealership for the drivers seat in real leather would be £940, so I'll look at other 'soft' options.
