The highlights this week. Monday, told that my boss had been reinstated and that now I was back as supervisor. Tuesday, told that Supervisors position had been made surplus so they could pay my boss and that I had to find another job within the ever shrinking company. Wednesday, missed cut off date for position in Rotherham (since rectified). Thursday. Some clown in an Orange Saxo ran me off the road into a ditch. Ok its a 124 and nearly indestructable. Got out of ditch and no damage. Comming home tonight, broke down (fuel pouring out of carb). Waited 2 hours in the freezing cold for breakdown. Could I duplicate the problem, no bloody way. Quick slave start and presto it fired up. Carb is being stripped tomorrow, it aint allowed to die like that and get away with it. So that was my week. Not looking forward to Friday.

Rant over back to normality or what is counted as normal here in deepest darkest Freckleton

Thanks Guy and everyone else. As for running me off the road. Its foggy and wet. I am doing 35mph and Saxo overtakes me doing, I estimate 60 - 70mph, He gets level and sees my high vis jacket. slams on brakes and cuts in front of me, I pull a hard left to avoid running into him and end up in a ditch. Saxo dissapears quickly into the distance. Nice man in Range Rover pulls up, attaches tow rope and pulls me out of ditch. The Pubs open soon, pity I still have to go into work. Never mind, have a bottle of Dimple Whiskey that is going to take a hit tonight when I get home.

Pammy yopu are a naughty person for suggesting joining the light side

Worst week ever! Still, the week is almost over Ian!

This is why I want to fit my car with cameras, to record these chumps in action!

I nearly became a statistic on the NHS database I administer at work when some guy decided to overtake a load of traffic on the main road near my house (you know this bit of road Ian, it's near your Mother-In-Law!). I was indicating right and in the middle of the road (in the little lane for right-turners). So there's a car blasting at me at about 50mph with nowhere to go, and I'm stationary with traffic going different directions on both sides! He slammed his brakes on and slipped into the oncoming traffic, narrowly missing me, I was squinting and bracing for impact at the time...

Ian Your week sucks, sorry to hear that.

Legally, I'm not sure your position can be affected by an instatement of another person. Check this with Personnel, I think it would be very iffey if it went to a tribunal, assuming you are a full time employee not a contractor.

All the best.

Ps the float or neeedle valve must have stuck on the carb, so not major. A sharp tap would have probably fixed it on the spot.

Sorry to hear of your bad week Ian, hope things improve. I agree with previous post go to personnel a kick up a stink and see what transpires. ps why is your car called deaf Edna?

I was feeling sorry Ian until about 30 mins ago, when I was told of the three contractors in my dept, only two were having their contracts renewed for next year, they all expire on 1st January, oh what alovely Christmas (not). Guess who is one of the three? no prizes for getting it right.

Now there goes a man with a plan. You have to do it Nick, it has to be done.
:bannana:

Needle valve, done what you sugested and thanks, seems to have done the trick, just bracing myself to see if it goes more than 200 yards lol

Pietre, join the club mate, sorry to hear of your situation. WE WILL SURVIVE !!

Checked with everyone but Him/Her up top and the situiation is solid. Dissapointed maybe but I will fight back. Been there before, Its a long ladder to climb but I know the way.

If you ever get the address of the saxo, please advise and I have my lebanese friends arrange a bbq for you. ;-)

tee hee we've got a "revenge" story for you Ian....

this morning whilst popping down the local retail park (where they have just changed the entire carpark layout) I was halfway onto a new mini roundabout when one of the local halfwits showing off to his mates on there way back home from halfords doing about 40 mph round the car park in his shiny grey Saxo, I stopped, he saw me at the last second and instinctively swerved into the hedge to avoid the impact - oooops - first he hit the kerb with a sickening thud, secondly, when he landed, the contractors who've been working on the car park had left a couple of temporary kerbstones there as well.

1 Saxo with it's front wheels looking almost square, water leaking from the busted radiator, oil coming out where he smashed the sump, blood running down the drivers face from what looked like a very broken nose and one of the three passengers in the back modified the front windscreen with his head. We had to phone the ambulance and sit around to fill in the forms when the police arrived and consequently missed any chance of getting to the GTG today.

Anyway bad luck on the week hopefully next week will be better and take some satisfatction in the fact there is one less Saxo on the road.

Andy

I hope your week ended on a high note. I got home to a phone call from my agency telling me I have another 12 months contract and they are looking at the rates(promising). So I hope you have been as fortunate. All I need now are those elusuve six numbers and a I can buy a CLS.
