WTF?? W124 Y reg?? Heee??

It will be an India import, they always seem to be E220s and are normally on a 51 plate.

Looking at the ride height and manual gearbox. I'm thinking its Indian made and imported. Others will know better I'm sure.

Almost certainly one of the indian ones. Basic spec manual 220 but with aircon.

+1 on Indian import. Look at the monster truck suspension.

Indian import..... I know it might sound stupid but is that bad?

Are they that bad, build quality wise?

Just wondering if they rust like the German ones or worse given the climate that it was built for.

No, they are not that bad, the high suspension helps with all the speed humps and if I remember rightly, the glue they used for interior parts would come unstuck, which was probably due to the amount of time they spent in a field in India before they were shipped to the UK, and the worse thing about them is the Manual Gearbox. W124's and Manual Gearboxes just dont go:crazy:

Why does the seller conspicuously fail to mention origins of car ? - rather naughty, i guess he fears lower price if potential buyers see a Indian built car rather than a German one

He probably didn't know(?)

the 1994 w124 im selling is a Y redg

it was from northern ireland so when it came here it had a private plate then i sold that plate and was re-issued a Y redg as it came to england in 2001

Definitely is an import from the far east. I used to have a E220 manual just like that with the "monster truck" suspension. As for build quality, my one was built like a tank and nothing fell apart or became unstuck in it. Really solid car, even had the "made in india" plaque in the engine bay!

Forgot to add, that was the car which made me fall in love with W124's. If it was as **** as people make it out to be, trust me I wouldn't have had another W124 at all :)
