Wtf!

Was it 'stance' or dub' that led you to the product? :D

Cool innit

I wouldn't be getting too outraged, because it wasn't that long ago that the Mercedes emblem evoked similar feelings as those in the link...

Think the Schutzstaffel had some involvement with MB. :P

How does this compare with the confederate flags and emblems that some people display, and probably without knowing what it once stood for.
I don't think they are necessarily being bought by Nazi supporters

As a matter of interest (I'm sure lots of you already know) that the ''Eagle'' symbol was part of the German ''Coat of Arms'' way before there was any hint of Nazism. So you could argue that the ''offensive'' part (The swastika) has been removed. That said the swastika itself was around 5000 years before Mr Hitler and was from Sanskrit and stood for good fortune.

The eagle is the national symbol of Germany, you'll find it on wine labels, flags, even police badges. The Quadriga at the top of the Brandenburg gate is crowned by an eagle holding a cross within the laurel wreath. Adding a VW symbol hardly makes it out of bounds, although they did cheat on emissions.

You'll find older ADAC logos (German AA/RAC equivalent) with it too

It's an eagle, that's all. Nothing much wrong with that. If the seller hadn't put 'Nazi' in the wording, nobody would object - or know about it, probably. I can quite understand why some WWII veterans might get hot under their collars about it, but from the rest of us, it's a rather stupid reaction; most of the rest of the world has moved on, and most of us have better things to worry about. Forgotten? No. A hot topic for today? Also no. The more publicity is given, the longer it takes to fade into the background.

Nothing offensive about the image at all, its a traditional German symbol, long before the National Socialist party bolted on their logo to it. Speaking of which, who here would find this offensive:

Which is a 1000+ year old symbol of peace
