Wxxx Mercedes model numbers

I'm new to Mercedes ownership, so bare with me please. But does anyone have a list of all the 'W' Mercedes reference numbers and what actual model they relate to?

I'm know that my 1998 CLK is W208 and the new generation is W209 but that's all I know. Without knowing the others it's sometimes hard to follow other threads.

The best source I could find that would help you out:

Scrolll to the bottom and you will a see a timeline chart with all the W*** models listed click on them and you get detailed information. The curent page shows all the E Class's with W*** codes.
