Hi all,

I would like to look into swapping the standard headlights on my 1999 pre-facelift CLK for a set of Xenon's.

Can I just buy the units and swap them straight over or is there (as I suspect) a lot more to it than that? e.g wiring changes, extra parts needed etc!

I have been offered a set of xenon's (just the units) but I am not sure what a fair and sensible price is.

All help most gratefully received.

Cheers

You need the lights, plus a pair of ballast units.

These just make the electrics fit the lights, but require the front bumper to be removed to fit in OEM location.

To be properly legal you also need the auto-levelling system fitted and the headlamp washers.

Cheers Graham,

Didn't think it would be as easy as just swapping over the units! Methinks it's too much trouble to be honest. I will save the cash and get the xenon's factory fitted to my next car instead, especially as I am splashing out on Comand this week
