Lo all !

I didnt get the chance to get my C200 with xenon headlights so im thinking of putting a xenon conversion kit. Im not sure whats the procedure on the Mercs so i would like to know if any of you have any idea if its a good idea or not. I have to obviously find out from Merc S.A if they will allow me to do this otherwise i risk my motorplan being taken away. Also is it possible to buy xenon headlights ?

Thanks for the help/advise

moving to electronics section

You'll need to tell us what age your C200 is before we can come up with an answer :)

Sounds like it's a new car as it's on lease.

You cant really retrofit xenon lights because as well as the lights you need the ballasts and all the levelling control gear.

If you really need xenon change the car.

You can swap the lights over, and depending on age they may come with the ballasts built in, if not they're just plug-in units. The levelling stuff is a little trickier but it can be retrofitted, just sits next to the suspension gear.

I've got self leveling suspension, does that mean i can fit xenon,s easily?

Firstly the car is the latest C class.

Shude: Does my car have the ballasts already for the xenon headlight ?

The xenon conversion is the full kit which consist if the ballasts and all necessary items. Has no one done a xenon conversion on their merc ?

you can fit them in , but you will have to get them enabled by the dealer on their computer system

I know it can be done but at what cost and how much hassle?

from what i know , you need to remove the front bumper and then the lights which should just plug in. you then need to hook the car up to star diagnose and have the lights changed from halogen to xenon or else they will just flash

the leveling thing was what put my off buying a pair of bi xenons from steveNL

Well dude... we live in South Africa. Considering the day-light-robbery we face, if you get it done by MBSA it will probably cost you a serious fortune!!!

Good luck!
