I like the way my xenons have that split second of imense power when I turn the lights on.
It's almost like a flash of lightning :bannana:

and if your quick enough going from position 2 to start you can see them flash and move up and down at the same time :) always draws a few looks ;)lol

On the first 211's fitted with active headlights, when you first start the engine the headlight system used to go through a precheck. The lights rotate fully to the left, then the right, then finally up and down. It is an eye catching procedure, but since Decomber 03 they do a simple left\right check.

Funny you should say that , the BMW active light system goes left right up down. :)

It does look good when it does this - thats the self auto leveling system kicking in... (sensors are mounted on to the front axle and I believe that there are also sensors on the rear axel components (if have bi xenons and getting Stealer to work on the suspension it is quite common for the senosors to get distrubed if parts are being replaced and hence the mis-alignment of the bi xenons... ;)

Correction to my earlier post (experiment repeated so that I could answer Rory). It just goes to show that lighting experiments should be carried out after dark.

When the xenons are on dip, flashing the lights brings on the halogen units and puts the xenons on high beam. If the lights are off then flashing is with the halogens only.

I can't do any more because my wife is already concerned that I come straight off the forum and go outside and flash against the garage door. ;)
Thanks for your trouble - very illuminating.

Hi, I have just bought a C180 on 03 plate, is there anyway of converting the headlights to bi-xenons?
