Posted thread earlier about my CLK making a "breath" sound , Which would have been better described as a whoosing sound , After getting a reply to the thread and taking it to a garage I am 99% that it is a split in a hose , Although the guy in the garage couldn't find anything (visual inspection) as he was already busy , However on driving home the yellow engine light came on in the clock display and the car went into what i now know is "safe mode" , My question is I need to take my car back to that garage tomorrow am I okay to drive the car with that light on ? I think that light comes on when there are several problems one of them being emissions / exhaust , Should I nurse the car 40 miles back to the garage ? Will i totally screw the engine ? Will safe mode be just that ...safe ?

Many thanks

im guessing that your clk is a diesel, if it is then tell the garage to look at the turbo hose coming from the intercooler to manifold ,just behind the front slam panel, for a split. dont worry to much about driving with the engine light on once the light is on the engine control unit will have put the engine into safe limp mode preventing major damage.
sorry just read your first posting totally agree with will

Not sure but i thought the K meant kompressor?
Anyway check oil and water and drive carefully and you should be fine.
