Actually that might just be real - the dash seems to fit anyway (Here's a real ones dash):

Easiest way to tell, go have a look at the tax disc :) As per the Toyota Murcielago at Trax, think it fooled a lot of people though.

probably a mr2 or micra

It looks real. The replicas are usually given away by odd ride height/stance and ill-proportioned wheelbase/ bodywork ratio, this one looks right.

According to Wikipedia the F50 came in 5 colours;

Rosso Corsa (Red): 302
Giallo Modena (Yellow): 31
Rosso Barchetta (Dark red): 8
Argento Nurburgring (Silver): 4
Nero Daytona (Black): 4

There is a dark grey one doing the rounds in the UK but i don't know if it came from the factory like it.

Plate check would work,

Have you any other pictures?

Wheels / offsets on copies usually look wrong these look right?

Guys this was real. Beautiful motor. Not likely to have an MR2 replica in these neck of the woods!

If the dark grey one to which you refer has red leather, then it wasn't factory finish.
It was retrimmed and resprayed by Ferrari Specialist Joe Macari and apparently has a VERY loud exhaust :)

I did a very un-scientific measurement comparison using the wheels relative to the car (vs. F50 picture from Ferrari website doing the same), and also a visual comparison - and I would argue that car is genuine.

If it isn't, it is the best replica ever, but I don't believe it is a replica.

Ahh, the productivity you achieve whilst eating a chicken roll at lunchtime in between coats of emulsion...

I didn't like the colour to be honest, i like the Rossa Barchetta myself although i'd like to see one in orange, a Cadbury's Dairy Milk purple or a lime green all of which would look stunning IMHO.

A Ferrari has to be red no matter what it is.
