    I appreciated it!

Everybody needs to look at this very carefully

The error on pressures on the tyre flap label is far from ideal, however the pressures stated are a recommended start point for the driver to adjust based upon wear, load, preferences, etc. They’re not a specification however most people - including those in the trade - use them as it’s the...

If I remember right the 500 E was £4500 and for sale ages. It did have intergalactic mileage though.

    I don't like brown but ......

That’s like saying I’m an athlete at the peak of fitness. For a small proportion of my life I was fairly close to being just that, but for the rest of the time I’ve been alive? Not so much. Bornite is fairly close to being plum in exactly the right light on 29 February, but for the rest of the...

Sorry to read about your frustration. How many of the tyres wore like this and where in the car were they? Also, what’s the damage to the wheels?

    I don't like brown but ......

Now there’s a car which has appreciated nicely in the 3 years since you posted. Try finding a manual 355 GTS but don’t look directly at the asking price, look through your fingers or from behind the sofa - it’s scary! They’re worth the money but when I know a car was so much less than it was...

BATTERIES on a 2010 (Face lift) Mercedes R350 4Matic CDi (UK SPEC) Where are they located?

The R-Class is on the same platform as the contemporary W164 ML and the battery is indeed beneath the driver’s seat (RHD). If replacing it then as it’s in the cabin you need to make sure that you buy an AGM battery rather than traditional lead acid battery. Before replacing, try charging it...

A whole new direction for McLaren

Interesting points regarding the shape of SUVs. Most fast SUVs are based upon a shared common platform and architecture which is a significant contributing factor to the overall shape and proportions. The only two fast SUVs I can think of right now which have a bespoke platform and...

Low miles owners be quick .... Cls55 Amg

A few members of a WhatsApp group I’m part of are going ahead with a reservation. When it was announced I thought the price would be punchy but this is even punchier still!

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

PS I reckon being 14 years old puts your car in the right bracket of being “peak car”. I love all cars of all ages, but there’s definitely a concentration of my favourite cars during the period between 2006 to 2018. I personally believe that during that period ICE cars reached their zenith...

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

An average speed of 60 mph is not to be sniffed at and much easier said than done in the Midlands and South, unless travelling the middle of the night.

    Insurance is a JOKE

Great result. I am reading and hearing lots of people with similar reductions. Good news.

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

The weather wasn’t bad over the weekend - raining heavily overnight but staying relatively dry in the day - but was hellish as we came back up the M5 this evening. We took the most direct route possible and thanks to bank holiday traffic or average speed was just 33 mph over a distance of 230...

    The EV fact thread

@ALFAitalia mentioned that his customer gets up to 180 miles when towing a twin axle Swift with a Model X. Even 125 miles is pretty good. It’s also better than the 100 miles you mentioned in a diesel Range Rover.

Keyless Start Works but Keyless Entry Doesn't

Not an S211 but I have a similar age Mercedes with keyless entry and touching the rear handle unlocks the car.

    The EV fact thread

That’s a poor show for ICE if a diesel Range Rover can only manage 100 mile range when towing, whereas a Model X can manage 180 mile range when towing. 👀

    The EV fact thread

How many ifs are there in this hypothetical scenario you have in mind? If no ICEs in the household, and if three EVs in the household, and if only one parking space, and if other parking locations don’t have power, and iif more than one of those EVs need to be charged simultaneously, and if EVs...

    The EV fact thread

If there’s only a single parking space with a charger and more than one car needed to be charged, wouldn’t the cars simply be rotated? A wall box will add around 30 miles range per hour, so charging one until bed time, and charging another one overnight could give more range than the average...
