I've ordered a second hand throttle body inc fuel distributor for my W126 300SE. Is it going to be a fairly easy DIY job to fit or should I really be getting a garage to do it? Is there any fine adjusting that will need done?

Today took the 300CE for a spin, the first in a long time, after about 30 minutes driving I noticed the oil pressure gauge dropped to about 1 when idling in d (revs about 600 I estimate) = returning to a full 3 only after about 1200 rpm is reached. Is this OK? It's lower than the 220 engine...

I am looking for some advise re the cold start my E300 with the M103 engine. It takes a couple of seconds for the oil pressure to rise. This is more noticiable the longer is has stood.Once it is started it is fine even if left for a couple of hours or switched off and restarted straight away...

Dose anybody know if the m103 would fit under the bonnet of a 1998 w208 230clk? Just an idea at the moment as we have the engine and car in our yard, both without a use. Thought about making a track car out of it. :eek:

I am wanting to toss the A/C compressor as air con system is kaput! Can anyone tell me of a belt that will fit if compressor is removed? It's basically being used as a spacer @ moment & the extra weight could be better lost for my particular build, not to mention added space for IC pipe routing...

I notice oil seems to be coming out from the head gasket on my 300SE W126 so I'm wondering if I should have it done. Any idea how many labour hours this might be at a garage? Also, while it's off, should I have any other stuff done? Mine is a 1988 with just over 100k on the clock.

I flushed the coolant system and fitted a new thermostat along with fresh antifreeze coolant today. The problem I now have is that it is now running too hot. It can't be air in the matrix as the heater has never been so hot. I'm talking melt your eyeballs hot:D But the temp gauge rises...
