response

Having problems with acceleration, seems to accelerate normally to about half way down (pedal) then anything else seems flat with no response, even if i floor it it just doesnt seem to want to go over about 3000 revs, if i switch off then on again 5 mins later its fine for a couple of miles...

I've noticed that my accelerator response is better with cruise control on. :confused: ie the car really responds quickly and urgently with cc on but with just my foot and the accelerator it can be fairly sluggish up hills. This is on a C220 diesel 1996. Has anyone experienced anything similar...
