I had a 1999 EClass estate (w210?) and the reason I got rid of it was it started going rusty every where. Did they sort the problem in the next model or do you have to have the latest one to be rust free????

Try olive oil it has stayed on my seams for a month very stable at high temperature, good ph, keeps water off.
