Hi folks
The son of a friend of mine is involved in a uni project involving converting a car to electric.
They are trying to sort out the brakes. He was showing me all there options for there system. Most of which involved lots of magic that I don't understand including flip flop logic thingys...

Had a bit of a moment this week in the Viano, no brakes or very little.
It started with a strange dry sound and a fart like noise inside, it was like that a week then one day from parked, foot on the brake and into drive and it was off!
Pedal would pump up ok but went down very low.
Today had...
Hi,
Occasionally I get the BAS / ESP light come on randomly.
I got the codes read, it says
C1201 A7/7s1 BAS release switch
C1204 A7/7b1 BAS diaphragm travel sensor.
I understand these parts are not available separetley, and I need a new servo.
Reluctant to buy a 2nd hand part...
Hi there.
Have a 2006 W221 320CDI. Have had some intermittent issues when reversing/parking where a message pops up on the dash saying: "DRIVE TO WORKSHOP WITHOUT CHANGING GEAR". Had someone connect it up today and looks like we are getting "No CAN Message was received" error codes C002, 0513...
A question relating to how a vacuum brake servo works.
This from Wikipedia:
''When the brake pedal is applied, the movement opens an air valve which lets in atmospheric pressure air to one chamber of the booster. Since the pressure becomes higher in one chamber, the diaphragm moves toward...
This piece is placed in order to protect the inlet manifold servo. The inlet manifold servo is a well know breakdown in this kind of engines just only consult it on MB forums to confirm.
The cause of this failure is the hot oil that falls down in the servo who rules the admission. This piece...
Has anyone got a good picture of the pipe and where it is situated on this model and where it runs from and too ?
Feel like a Muppet asking this but my brain has shut down.

I have an annoying noise coming from the rear offside wing of the car.
It happens approximately every 15 secs. It's like a small servo/motor whining.
Any clues? What is it? Is it a problem?

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to see if the swirl flap servo from the intake manifold is knackered? The servo is off the car as it has been relocated for easy access (swirl flaps removed and plugged).
Car is still in limp mode and I presume the motor is stuffed. When I...
I need to put a smaller brake servo in my W115 to clear the V8 valve cover, the current servo is about 10.5 inches in diameter, can anyone think of a mercedes servo which less than 9" diameter?
getting constant hissing from brake pedal so assume servo has broken
I imagine it is only a case of an o ring seal replacement but no doubt mercedes dont supply
My question is much like starter motors and the like can you nuy an exchange or re conditioned item from anywhere
then...how...
Hello all
our year 2000 W210 E240 (2.6 petrol V6) estate has what I can only describe as a lazy brake servo.
When the car is first started in the morning the engine automatically spins about 1200rpm for a minute or so - which it always has so I guess is normal - then drops to 6 or 7 hundred...
I bought my 2003 W163 ML a little over a month ago from a 4x4 specialist with full 12 months ticket and full service prior to delivery. I have taken it back with the following problems in the past 4 weeks.
Headlights not working (Mot failure for sure)
PTS dead (Faulty sensor)
Hissing noise...
A bit of an odd one this. I'm not even sure if it belongs under this category, so Administrators feel free to move it! I checked a load of the existing posts for something relevant in this category and wheels and tyres, but I couldn't find anything. Hopefully one of you clever chaps will be able...
Coming out of drive in morning I have to brake before pulling out of driveway onto road.
The brake pedal is incredibly stiff (as if servo assisted brakes are not working) as I do so.
Once onto road and braking in usual driving they are fine.
Something I don't know?
