Any Ideas ?
After lifting my foot off the brake pedal - say after sitting at lights - there is a continuos high pitched whistling ( seemingly insided the car -or poss through vents ? )
This whistling immediately stops when the brakes are applied .
then when brakes are released the whistling...
Not normally a problem for me as I drive with the music up - but giving a lift to friends, the rear passengers announced a whistling noise - presumably a gap around the rear window? or spoiler related?
Any news on similar experiences welcomed.
hi sorry but there seems to be this stupid whistling sound that sounds like its coiming from the passenger side near the glovebox.. it goes on and off and on and somtimes is loud and low.. driving me maddd

OK, this is starting to annoy me. There is a constant whistling noise coming from underneath my 98 W202 almost directly under where the engine is when its on. And when I'm above 1000rpm the whistling becomes much louder so that when my windows are open it is so audible. Any ideas as to what this...
I get a whistle during acceleration and slightly while revving in neutral.
I dont think it is the exhaust.It is coming from the front right of the engine bay.
Any thoughts are most appreciated.

On the drivers side air-vent, I can hear a strangle whistling noise from inside the duct. It is linked to the fan, but im unsure if perhaps its a leaf in there or if the bearing has gone in the fan? I hope if right in saying there is a fan in there somewhere to the right of the steering wheel...
Since i drove to work the other day during the mini monsoon we had in sheffield(it was like driving through a river at times :eek:) my v belt has been whistling. I sprayed some WD40 on the pully's and the belt and that cured it for about 5 miles but its now as noisy as before. :( The belt is...

With the sunroof open, i have recently noticed a whistling noise when accelerating, seemingly from the engine area. I assume it is a vacuum leak from somewhere.
I have looked under the bonnet and cannot see anything obvious such as a pipe disconnected.
Any thoughts how...
