06/55 CLK55 Convertible

but this is a soft top and an SL55 is about £25k to £30k more for a car the same age and mileage

is this a good deal?
http://www.mercedes.co.uk/emb_car_apps/used_cars/SGDetails.asp?SearchID=18754764&vid=1436636&Req=ALL

List is about £69k

Car is private 1 owner, and fully loaded. Seems to have everything except distronic and TV.

I wouldnt say its a particularly attractive price especially with that red leather insert. Difficult to sell on later. Its a lovely car, no doubt about that.

However, if you like it, thats what counts. Enjoy the search. Its almost as much fun as the driving!

I am also like Alfie and dont like the red seats.
I think prices will drop once theres a few more CLK63 around.

If you can wait aanother 6 months you might be able to pick up a really good deal

yes, you can but they have the mickey mouse CD COMAND system ...

sorry - the description says coupe and i couldnt tell from the pic. In that case i like it lots....can you not get an sl55 for mid 50s now?

strangely enough, the red inserts are what I do like

I thought it seemed reasonable, but as pointed out it's likely to take a beating depreciation wise with the CLK63 looming.

The additional power from the new unit will no doubt be a big pull for the type of person looking to buy a CLK AMG - likely to be prepared to pay a premium for the extra performance and cachet.

It looks okay - although I hate the red inserts but thats your choice. Lots of comments on here regarding the price. Remember they are hard to sell on (not a lot of demand for them, small market, depreciate fast) and the new model is out as well.

I bet it won't sell for a couple more months. If it is the coupe - most people will buy a CLK500 with AMG kit for a lot less, and not worry about the insurance / etc. Same for convertible.

Remember limited market, limited buyers. Having said that, they are superb - I had one, Alfie has one, I'm thinking of doing exactly as you have and buying another one 2nd hand - but I'm going to wait till mid next year when the prices will really have dropped and I expect you can pick a good one up for about 35-40.

I am NOT saying it is a convertible, but like everyone here, I have read the description and that states:

COMAND APS with navigation system, ISOFIX child seat anchoring system, Intelligent air conditioning, Bi-xenon headlamps, Soft top black, AMG styling package, AMG 18 twin-spoke wheel with mixed tyres, Keyless Go, CD Changer and sound system.

Regards,
John

Not only that - but if you look carefully you can see the soft top mechanism switch in front of the gearstick in the picture...

Ahhh, that's a shame. It's a car designed for a lady then. I guess there's nothing stopping you buying it and then getting the roof converted back.
