Okay, this is the saddest post ever but I caught it on camera

My car rewarded me with a broken rev counter... which was fixed by hitted the dash twice !?!?

Anyhow, what are your current mileages?

aaaw - that is sad. I felt sad yesterday - had no camera tho as mine rolled over to 6000 :D was only thinking how gutted I'll be when it goes to five figures :(

Well "caught" ! & Congratulations. I'm only just over half way at the moment . . about 58k. Got a little bit of catching up to do ! Of course, 100k is nothing for a MB - so nothing to get too excited about really ;)

S.

151,000 on a 1996/7 CL420 and runs smooth, full oil pressure from tickover, smooth gear changes (thanks to George Fraser), no noises apart from a very slight wind whistle at ...ahem... speeds and the nearside door rubs the dash over big bumps.

Mine has about 102,000 on it. High milers rule! My previous car had about 140,000 miles on it and it was superb, they definitely loosen up and get better with age.

2006 update: up to 139k now! :)

100k is always a big event - with other makes it seems the second hand market dismisses cars that have breached or coming close to this psychological barrier.

Oddly, having sat in a few taxis with 200k+ miles on the clock I haven't got the same worries about older MB cars, my current W210 has 162k on the clock and still seems to be very well behaved, but was half the money a dealer would look for from a 2001 car.

Let's hope ours double their miles without incident... (Pammy, yours had better be good for a while yet! ;))

Ian.

Extremely SAD!!

75mph to 85mph in the space of one-tenth of a mile? Hell, that's an acceleration rate of 135 kiloparsecs per second, per second,.........and all whilst holding a digicam between your teeth. What sort of 1.8 have you got under that bonnet, and more to the point...........................who is your dentist?

In any case, a very brave effort and despair not, mine's due during the next couple of months (the tun that is, not the bun!). It will be nice to see the sixth digit of the odometer takes its first breath in nearly six years, and as they (the German taxi drivers) say, a Merc has just run in at that point. Problem is, without being a pessimist, looking through some of the threads on this site, by this time, some of the later models have already run out!!

I'll endeavour to get some piccies too......dependent on proximity of Plod at the time. Anyone know of a supplier of miners' helmets adapted to accomodate digital cams (teeth past gripping stage)? Looked on eBay but nothing showing on the search feature

Regards,

Alex

PS: Is Pammy getting off her drive at all? :D

99200 miles,Got another month yet :D

Just coming up to 80K.

The only thing in the back of my mind to change car in the next year is to get rid with it low 90K miles - used buyers don't like them high milers, unless you are paying bottom dollar.

Nice post though, I remember watching my 318iS roll over to 100,000.

Oh yes - but it's the beauty of a two seater, means all the heavy mileage goes on the BIG car coz there isn't room for everyone on mine, and the dogs ain't getting near it - ever!! Well barring any catastrophe :D So hopefully I can keep the mileage fairly low :p :D

I've got quite a bit of catching up to do - 1967 on W203 and 22,350 miles (ish) on W126...

My prvious cars all did a maximum of no more than 5000 miles when traded in....

Dear me, you are all beginners.

Green Monster 207K

Red Shed 179K

Looking forward to the 250K mark. So far No problems (its going to break now I have said that) and she still pulls well as Lotusmark2 will tell you :D

Low mileage surely means you don't get to enjoy your baby nearly as often as you should ;)
