190E 2.3 16 COSWORTH, 1988 E, Manual, 128k miles, Full Leather, 1 Owner

Peach

That is a nice one, wonder what that will make?

That car was on as a buy it now yesterday at £2,500.

After reading through the advert, I went to press the buy-it-now button but the advert had been pulled for some reason.

It was listed at about 11.45 and ended about 11.50.

Very strange...

Is it sat on your bid now?

Sorry that would be confidential.

I like the way he's answered the suspension question.

Q. Have you upgraded the SLS to normal suspension?

A. The suspension has not been downgraded to normal.

Looks nice. Could be that he realised he had it up for too cheap or maybe he's not that ebay savvy and thought he'd listed it as a start price rather than a B.I.N.

Is it sat on your bid now?

No, if it sells for £2,500 I'll eat my hat; it's got a very rare list of positives; One owner & Time warp condition being the main ones.

Having been watching these on and off for quite some time, I'd be amazed if it didn't make £4,000 easily.

Might be worth making him a cash offer SP?

Hmmmm.....Don't tempt me.....

Even though I've shifted my search onto an E55/C55 now, if I'd have got it at the buy it now price I'd have been laughing.

I would hazard a guess though that he's had loads of interest and won't want to sell it for anything like what I'd want to pay.

I'd love for it to be bought by someone on here, these don't come up too often.

That looks really nice, completly standard and great condition.

I would think 4K on that would be almost and investment.... Its a classic.

Surely this will go for more than £4k? My impression is that it can reach around £7-8k?

It's a really nice looking example, easily one of, it not THE best example I have seen advertised in several years.

Going on what I can see, it is worth more signifcantly more than £2.5k or £4k, I would suggest £8k, possibly more if it's nicer in the flesh. If I was in the market for another, I'd be over there yesterday (it's local to me!)

Find me another superb condition, 100% original, one owner 2.3-16 at any price :)

I think there will be things to do on it... its not been used in 4 years and it needs an MOT now...

I think its a 3-4K car max...

As to the owners, the log book says 3 and therefore it will never stick as being a one owner car.

10 bids so far now at £3587,8 days to go,should see good money.

It's a 24 year old car, and as such will suffer from many age related ailments, no matter what mileage it has covered. My biggest concern would be rust. It might look OK on the outside , but without getting it on a ramp, or getting plastic undertrays and liners etc. off, how do we know it is not riddled with rot. Given its age, I would not take the risk. Also it hasn't moved for over 3 years. This is not good for the rubber bits (including tyres). Caliper pistons, brake cylinder rubbers, suspension bushes may have all sat in exactly the same position for 3 years.

Anyone making bids without a good look is taking a big risk. Unsighted, I would not bid more than £1000. However I am particularly risk averse.

In addition, I am always suspicious of cars on ebay. If I had a really good, old classic car that I believed in, I would be advertising it on Cars and Classics, Pistonheads or Autotrader, certainly not ebay.

Ebay is for disposing of your old rubbish with little comeback.
