1981 W123 Mercedes 200 £1800
A really nice, solid W123. The bodywork is generally in very good condition and polishes up exceptionally well. I have just had £600 of welding to the floorpan and she passed the MOT without issue afterwards. The interior is also very presentable with just the usual scuffed off material on the drivers seat side panel where you enter the car.
4 new tyres in August
New exhaust system 2014.
Original working Blaupunkt cassette radio
Points to note;
147000 miles
The speedometer has stopped working but I have a new replacement ready for fitting.
The rear nearside lamp has been broken but I have a very good replacement here ready to fit.
At 34 years old it does have a few bodywork scuffs (genuinely nothing that detracts from the overall appearance) and one ding just below the rear offside lamp.
I have had a replacement engine fitted in the summer (From Mercedes Mark in Cheshire) that I was told had about 80/90k on it.
Sunroof which has been mended and doesn't leak.
I have had this as my everyday driver for 4 years now but have decided to get a newer car because it does have one nagging issue that needs to be addressed. Throughout the warmer months she drives beautifully but now the cold mornings have arrived it does take a while to settle down. It will start on the button, but once driven for a mile or so it starts to struggle and it becomes difficult to keep the revs up and sometimes she will eventually stall. If left for an hour or so and the heat has fully warmed her up she will be back running just fine again.
I would honestly keep this car if that problem was solved but it is beyond my technical capabilities and I have put plenty of money into this car to get her back to the condition she is now in and I do need something quickly now winter is approaching.
I am more than happy to have her viewed and driven so I can talk honestly about the car. I know she will be a cracking car for someone once the cold weather problem has been sorted.
