1986 420 SE What do you think?

Maybe Not

Dont think i would bid on this one, unless an experienced mechanic with deep pockets, no leather, no mention of air con. Body doesnt look tip top either, there are plently of really good ones out there with top spec, dead cheap if you look. IMHO dont! (But then what do i know?)

Wing mirror bust, rust bursting through the chrome on the top of the bumper (common area) and its being sold by a company with the name of Rochdale Auto Rescue.....that to me says it all.

Personally I would avoid it.

Yes i agree ...

Looks like you would need very deep pockets with this one .....

All the pointers are there for a not very well cared for car , i would steer well clear , you can get a nice condition w126 saloon for not very much these days ....

Plus the fact the tax and MOT have expired , there's no guarantee that it will even get through the next one , so before you even drive it you might have a massive outlay ....

Don't bid, save your pennies ...

I like the D reg plate on the front and the NIW one on the rear and in the front screen:crazy:

I'll give it a miss.
Thanks for the replies.
I must have been looking thru Southern Comfort tinted eyes.

I asked the seller about the number plates and he even put the reply up for all to see:crazy:

Q: Hi. What reg actually comes with the car? The D reg one on the front, or the NIW one on the rear?

A: THE CAR COMES ON THE NIW NUMBER PLATE!

P.S. just noticed it's a J, isn't that VERY late? They tended to add free options on end of run models, no?

Back then MB were very "tight" on options and even stereos/electric aerials/alloys were an option. W126 back then had hub caps as standard...

The alloys on the car are "copies" and tow bar looks really cool...
