Thoughts on the value of a super low miles W124

It is worth what buyers will pay for it , and that car will get £5K minimum all day long .

I’ve had lots of W201 , W123 and W124 all with variants of the M102 , and excepting a 1.8L variant in a 190LE , which is a known exception , I’ve never had CHG trouble with any of them . I would only worry about a CHG if it happened , which it most probably won’t .

Suspension and subframe bushes are easy DIY jobs and won’t cost anything near £1500 . Plenty of sellers on eBay.de do kits with all parts needed , but even from M-B they aren’t expensive .

Optimism isn’t your friend when it comes to recommissioning/restoring an old car. Plan and budget for the worst and hope for the best is my advice.

You will rarely find much wrong underneath on a W124 , aside of a few inexpensive suspension bushes or subframe mounts , sometimes welding is needed in the vicinity of the forward rear subframe mounts/rear jacking points , but not on this dry stored/well cared for example , which the OP has already stated is OK underneath .

The few issues with these cars are well known , and easily spotted before parting with cash .

In any case , from a seller’s point of view I stand by what I said and buyers will be falling over each other for this car , I would expect £5K minimum for it , and once it has sold , problems are not the sellers concern
