1993 320 CE Cabriolet Sportline Cheap!

no mention of mileage, HG, loom so have to assume all needs doing until checked out. various other niggles that he mentions which suggest it is rather unloved (despite his write up).

what do I always read on this forum, there is nothing so expensive as a cheap mercedes!

that said it could be a bargain but eyes wide open I feel

Well his garage door definately needs replacing.

The rear wheel bearings are noisy, or something is catching, but I can still redline it through the gears to 110MPH on a few occasions last week.

No mention of history, when things go wrong they are ignored (windows and belts) or bodged (washer).

Erm, no thanks!

Just got off the blower, it's 238k but loom replaced, it's had a new hood lining and new wings approx 5 years ago. No service history but he's had it 13 years and is the 2nd owner. Someone is on there way over to view now- anyone from here?

To fix and refresh everything will cost about £3,000 at a specialist (that is what I have just put into a 245,000mile E300 D to make it mechanically as good as can be). If the bodywork is fair, that makes it a bargain in my book.

when i first saw the ad and the price i thought WOW, thats cheap.

with all the work required and the huge mileage (i know its not for a w124, but try selling it on afterwards) and missing service history i think its over priced,

just my opinion!

This guy has just phoned me- the car is back up for sale. He's held it until now on a small deposit.

Ask him if he'll p/x a garage door :)

Ad now say's sold what was he asking for it?

I had a long chat with him 2 weeks ago.. really nice guy, genuine..

car had a huge list of things to do, and in my opinion, needs atleast £5k.

the drivers seat is from a S124, the interior has various malfunctions, has a leak in the rear, roof works perfectly, rust bubbles here and there, and has been used every day.

random noises from wheels, but he was a really genuine chap, and as a seller, one to trust for sure, just he was asking £3k-£4k, but i could never offer anywhere near that, but it did appeal, as my dream would be a smoke silver 320ce sportline.. just this one was beyond what i would want in terms of work required..

but it has been very well used, and credit to Steve, the owner for honesty through out the conversations.
