1995 C class with air vent on front wing

I saw a 1995 M reg C class this morning,but it had an air vent on the front o/s wing (just in front of the wheel), does this denote its the 'sport' model ? or what is it ? :bannana:

one late w124 models, the vents were for the diesel engines.

on a c class.. hmm never seen one!

It might have been a w124td but i`ve seen many cars with it.They cut that piece of and weld on the wing.Once i`ve seen a rover 620 that had it and a few times seen them on ebay from Sprinters.
