Hi, car won't start however the transparent tubes between the fuel filter and the fuel pump show fuel but also an abundance of air too. The air does not clear when turning the engine over. Could the pre-filter have anything to do with this or has anyone any other suggestions? We have replaced the fuel filter.

Is this only since you've changed the fuel filter, or it just wont start? Bleed the air out via the union's on top of the injectors, then it should start. If you still have trouble with air in the system the O rings on the pre filter, o rings on the clear plastic pipes, the pipes themselves, and the delivery valve seals all need to be checked.

No this problem existed before we changed the fuel filter. My Haynes manual doesn't mention bleeding air from the injector unions, what does this look like?
Appreciate your help with this, thank you

On top of the injector is a union where the fuel line connects, loosen these off then crank the engine over till fuel spews out. Tighten the union's back up and then try to start it.
