Hi, my car seems to take along time to change from 1st to second gear more frequent when its cold. Also the kickdown switch doesnt seem to b working. When i floor it , it simply revs high and wont change gear? Does anyone know where I should start with this ?
Any help would be great as this is my first Mercedes and my first automatic so i dont know alot about them :-)

They are deliberately slow to change up when cold- something to do with emissions. Should be mentioned in the owners manual

I have the same problem on my C240 when the gearbox oil is cold.

Its fine once the gearbox oil has warmed up.

I think they hold on to 1st gear longer in the cold to warm up the catalic converter.

The later 202's with the 722.6 autobox were designed to hold on to the lower gears during warm up. Yes, on the basis it warmed the cat quicker. Very silly and annoying feature, if you ask me !

Has anyone experienced problems with the kickdown??
