Hi all

My father in law has offered me his 99 v reg C200 Elegance saloon for £3250. Its got a full MB history and is mint condition with 98k on the clock. I think it is standard spec with a/c and alloys etc and silver paint.

He is selling it because he wants a CLK so is offering it to me for the money he can get PX. Is £3250 a good price, the prics on Autotrader are all over the place!

Cheers

Joe

I thinks thats a bargain-If you dont want it, I'll have it! I paid £5,750 for my 1996 C Class 2 1/2 years ago...Go for it.

2 Months ago I got a 1999 C240 V6 Sport for £3000 - that was after I pointed out about 20 faults with the car.

As long as you check it over and its mechanically sound thats a bargin + if it breaks down at least you know him!

Thanks for the advice.

I have just agreed to buy it, will collect it in Jan when he picks up his CLK. He also agreed to service it and put 2 new tyres on it!

I can't wait, it will be my first Mercedes, it has always been VW's for me until now!

It sounds like a good buy to me.
It's a car you know, you're getting a service and tyres and it's dealer trade money.
Even if it's more expensive than another one it still sounds like a good deal as you know the car.

Welcome to the world of 1st class motoring.
Merc cars aren't perfect but on balance they're pretty close.

The price isn't a steal by any means. Don't get me wrong, it's the right price for the car, just I doubt he would get much more for it, hence you are not getting much if anything off (£250 max). Likewise it sounds like he has been offered an amazing p/x price. Perhaps paying OTT for the new car!

You know the car as already said.

Having sold my 1999 C230K earlier in the year, cars are advertised at various prices, but I know what they sell at. The dealer that sold mine for me had 3 other w202's in. The prices had to tumble on them all to sell.

I have to say that the W202's look like a lot of car for not much cash, particularly when you look at the price of a W203.

My father in law has bought an 05 reg CLK270 Elegance auto with leather, sunroof and Comand for £25,500 with 4k miles from a main dealer. It looks a nice car to me. He is happy with the price, they had it priced at £26,750.
