1999 C43 AMG With Faulty Gearbox

Jay, how much would you expect that car (with 132K miles) to fetch at auction, if it was in full working order - ie, drivable without a knackered gearbox? And, for that matter, with original AMG wheels and no eBay lights!

Will

about 4-5K with that mileage at a real push..

all c43's had the darker cluster too... seems like someone has put some cheepo pre facelift looking lights in..

They are not the OE pre-facelift clusters but 'upgraded' aftermarket rear clusters like these :)

Edit: Oops already been mentioned

I would hazard a guess at that having a life as a drift machine. The wing dent looks like either the side skirt is drooping, or the wing has shifted. At that point on the wing, you would need a hefty smack to do that damage.

132k for an 8 year old Merc is not that higher milage.

I would say it is for an AMG, certainly above average, and this will affect it's overall value quite a bit.

Though not linked to this, while in MB SW last week there was a SL65 on a 04 plate. all of the wheels scuffed, tiny dents and dings all over, the inside was the worst where a large dog must run wild with scratches all over the dash and center console, the driver seat was the worst and almost in holes.

It's just an average C43 with a duff gearbox, get the gearbox fixed and what a car for not a fat lot of money...

it also needs a near side door mirror thats not in the description

I don't know how much you have to pay for the salvage on your C43 Blackbeast, but there's a viable project here if you can get it cheap enough.

I personally think that £3K is steep for this one on eBay but you could have yourself a lot of spares or break one and do OK out of it :)

It went for £3600 with the reserve passed. The new owners got alot of work to do looks like.
