erm, how come it's so recent? I noticed this one on Autoshadier and thought it was a misprint! Made in India?? Out of rusty old W210s?

Made in India from German CKD kits.

Some of them took years to sell here, hense the 51 plate ones knocking around.

Bit of a grey market car all things considered...

Is that what the Germans or South Africans made your former W203 from then as well...?

All RHD W203 saloons are assembled in SA in exactly the same way that late W124s were assembled in India. There was also a W210 plant in India for the South Asian market specifically.
