Randomly and it seems more often, say one time in ten, the car loses all drive. This has now happended several times when being driven at 25-40mph, its as if the vehicle gear shift has been moved to "N".
Before I start fiddling I thought I'd ask a panel of experts (those who read these forums) and pick brains as to possible causes / solutions.
For reference, gear changes are super smooth, no jerking, so I dont think the gearbox oil is suspect (it was recently serrviced too). However until I check this manually I cannot be 100% sure, just 99% for now. Anyway when I looked for the gearbox dipstick the only thing that resembled it was in the middle of the engine bay at the back and the top was fiddly.
I thought of some kind of sensor with a loose wire, where would I look. I also thought of a lever / rod that needed adjusting. Where please.
Open to any and all suggestions. Don't want to use the car until its back to 100% and look at the weather.
Cheers to all that can find the time to offer some advise.
