I was undertaking some detailing on my sons 500 yesterday (headlamp and tailpipe refurb) and I’d noticed the unit which houses the indicator and cruise stalks monger round the steering column is loos, moving some 2-3 MM on the column itself. Can anyone tell me how this is mounted and secured on the column how it can be tightened up?

Also, the rear view mirror is loose on its mount, so if anyone can point me in the right direction on tightening this too, that’d be great.

All information/suggestions welcome.

PS - still astonished at the roof complication in action!

its alloy clamp which wears out, you can drill up into the column and thread a bolt into it to stop it removing,

My C class does the same, and a friend repaired is 203 also.

Think there is a youtube video somewhere.

Thanks Eddy77. Found a vid on YT - that looks a PITA to do! LOL!
