2007 C200 wiring issue?

Hi all,

I have a 2007 C200 that started developing a fault and it's driving me nuts.
Basically the fault started with the Wipers working erratically, sometimes they would go on, sometimes they wouldn't...
I went to a local garage and they advised to change the whole steering column stalk (which I did) but the fault remained.

Now the fault developed as follows:
- When I turn the car on the wipers may not work
- If the wipers do not work then i try to find holes or bumps to drive on and with the shake the Wipers usually start working again
- The Wipers may stop working at any moment, they may also work for weeks without any bother...

- Recently whilst commuting, a dashboard message came on displaying "ESP malfunction", changing to the Airbag symbol and "Visit Workshop" message
- this may happen at any time and goes away just like it appears

Anyone that is aware or had the same issue resolved?

Sounds like a dodgy rain sensor?

You won't know anything about whatever the fault is unless you get the car plugged in on STAR

SRS would not misbehave from a dodgy rain sensor. Wiper neither if continuous mode was selected (OP did not mention but I assume he tried all wiper speeds).

Star session helps a lot but might not be straightforward with an intermittent issue.

Thanks, yeah it fails in all positions.
Sometimes i turn the car ignition off and on again and the wipers start working.

Thinking on a dodgy relay, is it possible?
