Nice work. Silver, AMG kit, tinted black windows and pano roof. There is no finer colour combination.

I trust its a sport, they drive pretty nice and the more supportive seats are good.

Not a fan of 7g trans and the engine can give niggles, some very expensive but its not a huge likelihood. The common ones are a sub £500 fix, reasonably common. Put it this way, when its serviced have the area around the turbo seal changed and every 2nd service, have the turbo seal changed. Do that, you'll not have issues.

Thanks for the advice! I will actually do that!! Took your advise and went for an 07not an 06 because of the sbc! There's only 32000 miles on her! The guys just had the gearbox oil and filter changed!

That car will be fine on a 2007, the facelift is good and its nice and young. Do get the area around the turbo seal wiped down. It could save you grief later on as your forking out £350 for new seals and swirl flap motor. Only common weakness on those. There is the engine bearing fault, but IIRC only on early batches of those and a one off in a later car. The 7g valve body can fail, but not on a car so young and its only a grand to fix, dear but not write off the car dear.

Thats the negatives, if you can get along with 7g, you'll have an E class that drives nice, really takes the road well, delivers over 40mpg and even 50mpg if you hypermile it on the motorway and averages around 35-37mpg, and will do over 150mphand waft like a V8. Very good cars when they work, yours will, mine was "the car from hell" but the level of breakdowns and failures on mine are not the norm.

Is it expensive to have the turbo seal changed? And the area around it?

No. Just have it done when its in for a service and the area cleaned up. Not dear. Common practice now amongst indie's now

I've just sold a 2001 s 320 cdi. You rekon this car will be quicker and more fuel efficient?

It'll be a lot quicker....

Here's my old one in action...

Acceleration is 6.8sec to 60mph and serious in gear overtaking...proper fast cars.

Efficiency over a 210. I doubt it. Given postings of 210 owners with the I6, I'd wager you'll experience a dip in fuel consumption, not an unafforable one however.

Depends, mainly motorway driving you won't as the gearing is taller but in other uses you might notice it.

I've had mine for nearly 2 years just had the inlet port shutoff motor done which packed in due to a leaky turbo seal, had to get the glow plugs and relay changed last year and apart from regular servicing (inc gbox oil & filter change) my car is awesome, oh and I did get a remap done as part of a group remap so it's mighty quick. The only downside is sometimes when the 7g box is changing down from 2nd to 1st you do notice it especially when cold, but if you are getting any work done on it involving star I suggest you have the latest 7g g.box software update installed. This can only be done by an experience technician using the star machine. Hope that was usefull.
Ps dont use supermarket diesel my car does not like it for me its shell and every 3rd or 4th fillup shell v power.
Regards
Boxer

Your car ticks all of my boxes;

Facelift W211: check.

Silver paintwork with panoramic roof: check.

AMG kit with AMG wheels: check.

Very, very nice looking car you have there, take care of her and she will take care of you. Congratulations.

Any suggestions on a good warranty company to use?
