Hi hoping someone out there can help! My Vito won't reach redline it will max out at 3500rpm, I was told that it was due to faulty injectors, bought 4 new injectors and have fitted then only to find it's still unable to hit full rpm🤔 any suggestions please, thanks in advance

How was it decided that the injectors were faulty?
Are the injectors new?
Have they been coded?

Hi I had the injectors tested at a local diesel specialist and all 4 failed, so purchased remanufactured injectors from them and i have coded the new injectors, there is no fault codes stored either so not sure on the next step to take

how did you know it was faulty injectors- did the garage use a good diagnostic unit?- did they check fuel pressure?-- the engine may be going into safe mode due to any number of faults- if the gearbox is automatic it could even be that??

Hi I took them out and had them tested at a diesel specialist and all 4 had faults, the garage that originally discovered the faulty injectors used a snap-on scanner, I'm not sure if they tested fuel pressure, I have a icarsoft mb 2.0 scanner so can have a scan for fuel pressure, what sort of pressure should I be seeing? also the van has a manual gearbox👍

sorry can't help with fuel pressure but these systems are very sensiitive to air in the system pipework ---sometimes happens after a fuel filter change

No worries I'll have a look on the web for pressure info, I'll give it a check over tomorrow for any leaks, thanks 🙂

If I was you to be certain I'd take it to someone with a Star machine But initially I think I would clear all the faults u have, run it & see what comes back.. you may find the fault easier that way.

How did you test the vito were you on the road ,with your foot down ,,or sitting on the drive doing it ? they wont red line stationary ,,,must be on the move .

How much higher than 3500 rpm does it normally achieve?

Is there any usable power after 3500 rpm.?
