2012 w204 lighting

My new 62 plate s204 is a little odd on the lighting setup. The 2012 revision has the LED daytime running lights on all models now.

The LED daytime running lights only come on when lights are set to auto. But the annoying bit is the tolerance at which the car turns these off and turns the headlights on instead........it seems to be about 2hrs before dusk (I will get my lux meter to find out when it does kick in).

Anyone else find this turnover very premature ?

Also the interior dash lights must be on a different tolerance or light sensor to the LED/headlights, as they don't go into night mode until much later.

On my 12 plate S204 the drl's stay on with the headlights on the auto setting. Never used any other setting

Was yours pre June , ie before the update ?

I heard that the DRL's only stay on with the ILS (Xenon) system, the Exec model has the Halogen lights so within the settings there is no way to keep the DRL's on when the Headlights turn on.

Shame really as they look cool.

Is there any way to install drl to my 2008 c200 w204. Thnx.
