2013 C63 limp mode on track

Hi, I took my C63 to the Nurburgring last year and it went into limp three times but as soon as it cooled down a bit it sorted its self out. I remember reading a couple of posts where this had happened to other owners. Is this a know MB fault and is there a fix?

A slightly larger transmission cooler could be installed because the regular C63 tends to go into gearbox limp mode when abused in hot weather
Or a software update as per below post

I can confirm that a simple software upgrade will fix the problem

I had the same issue in July 2012 and September 2012 when I visited the Nurburgring. However after speaking to a good friend of mine who is the service manager of AMG Brooklands all was well again. I visited twice last year and managed 6 back to back laps with no issues what so ever and it was well over 30c!!

The AMG black series oil cooler will do the same thing however MB UK won't pay for this. Cost was £2372 inc vat

It's not a software download which is normally applied to any C63AMG. It must be requested as a special from MB UK.

Happy to assist if needed, however happy to confirm it will fix the issue.

What "Mode" were you in on the track? Manual shifting or Sport?
Manual shifting could be an issue working the tranny too hard if you downshift too early

M mode is optimal for track but only if you get the down shifting spot on

be interested to know if "Software" update resolves the issue
