Hi,

First time poster and doing so out of a little desperation.

I was driving behind a flatbed lorry and one of the wooden blocks used to support the cargo fell off and I wasn't quick enough to swerve. Needless to say it damaged the undertray and busted my power steering motor.

For doing my initial research I found out there where two motors fitted to the steering racks. Mine seems to be the (A2074604500) but I can't work out which motor goes as part of that assembly.

I think its one of these two

Any help anyone can give or if you need extra information from me please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Use partsouq and enter your vin. It will show you the car as it left the factory.

Can the power steering pump be overhauled or find the part at a breakers yard.

That's what I'm trying to do but as conveyed there's two different motors installed and I'm trying to determine which one to order.

The Partsouq doesn't show which version either.

Are both the same part numbers, but a different version??

They have different power outputs and I guess compatibility.

I put in the whole steering rack part number (A2074604500) into eBay and zoomed in. While not ideal I was able to determine a few of them had the same motor (the top one above). It would have just been nice to have it offically confirmed somewhere.

I even went into my local dealership and they wouldn't tell me. But quoted a price that is half the value of the car to fix. When it was clear it was uneconomical I don't know why they'd shield that info.

I've checked my glc against partsouq and it lists 2 numbers for what looks like the complete power steering unit with motor , one is for left hand ,the other is right-hand .

I found this place online Mercedes E-Class C207 Coupé Electric Steering Rack Reconditioning Service

It lists your part number and maybe could help fix yours or source you a motor . ?? Good luck. £570 .
