Hi everybody I'm new here and just picked up a MY17 ,GLA 220D 4matic
I'm having a couple of issues.
#1 I'm not able to connect my android phone with the infotainment system, I've got android auto on my phone and tried plugging it in via a usb cable but no joy.
Am I missing something simple or is my system not able to connect with the car? The Bluetooth phone works ok for calls
#2 there are text messages on the system from the previous owner, is there a way to delete the messages of the system?
Many thanks in advance
Pj

Is it possibly as simple as deleting all phones in the system then re pairing your phone so it's the only one?

More info the system is a AUDIO 20 RADIO NAVIGATION CAPABLE NTG5 if that's help thanks

Check that you are actually has Apple CarPlay and/or Android Auto. It was a chargeable option.

Check your Datacard for the following options:

14U - Smartphone Integration Package
16U - Smartphone Integration Carplay
17U - Smartphone Integration Android Auto

The first line is the hardware required (USB port for Smartphone)

The second line is the license for Apple CarPlay

The third line is Android Auto.

I have according to vincoderz all 3 of those options I have android auto on my phone and bugger all happens when I plug it in via usb
Very frustrating

1. Try a different USB cable

2. Update the Android Auto app on the phone, then reboot the phone

3. If you have a friend with an Android phone, try his/her phone

4. Take the car to a dealer or independent specialist to update the Audio20 software

Also, see if there's a setting in Audio20 to auto-start Android Auto on connection.

Ok thanks, I'll try all those suggestions tomorrow and I'll buy a new usb cable
