21 year old minter!

I think the price isnt bad if the condition/history is so good. A specialist would be twice that easily.

Surely it's a 23yr old minter?

Very nice. Shame it's manual and poverty spec. Mine's not far off and a better colour than that - and I paid a lot less for it.

:D good point. 23 year old car with one owner for the last 21 years!

Shame it's a 200.

Now a 280E, that would be nice

My 230 was owned by the original owner for the first 21 years!

would that car be road tax exempt?

hmm. i need to find a car that is road tax exempt, for a runaround while i buy diy supplies for fixing my house this xmas. i dont want to pay road tax and the insurance will be cheap as ill add it to my policy and was quoted an extra £150 fully comp for 8000 miles. any ideas?

I think tax exempt in two years time...after 25 years.

But she is a beauty!!!!

Shame the Capri was'nt in the same condition:)

Anything built post 1.1.1973 pays VED. It is not a rolling 25 year old exemption.

They are far, far too thirsty. My 500SEC gives similar MPG to the best 280E/SE I've ever owned.

I've had lots and never got more than 18mpg on a run. Even well fettled ones with low miles just gorge on the juice. 1960s DOHC design, so I'm lead to believe?

230E every day for me. Similar performance to the 280 and just as smooth, but with respectable MPG.

Well , if that car turned up at my local car auction I'd be amazed if it went for more than £995.

I'd give £1500 for it, if it looks as good from the pics. But it would need to be near new.

Mine's in the gallery here and I paid about 12% of his asking price! Mine's the same spec, same history but has real, used miles and a nicer, metallic paint. And mine looks new - other than the 25yr gap in time!

123s aren't worth anything now, other than small change in saloon form. Even a good CE won't fetch more than about £3-£4k unless it's 'from the box new'.

+1. What he said.

I had a one owner 1982 230E & loved it.
