My 211 has of late become a bit tired feeling with regard to the front suspenion . The car as covered 126000 miles .
Theres a slight knocking noise , though its more of a feeling than a noise , when I go over speed bumps or on uneven country roads . also on motor ways it feels a little vauge and needs constand correction .
I jacked up the car and checked to see if there was any wore ball joints or bushings . All the ball joints are fine with no ware or free play and the bushings seem fine , with no excessive movement . I had expected the front torsion arms to need new bushings , but they did seam ok .
How much movement should there be in these bushings ?

At that mileage I'd be looking at all the joints and bushes etc

New suspension all round also.

Get it looked at properly by a Garage.

A untrained 'poke-about' by a DIY Joe (no offence) will not show up worn suspension components.

Mine was shot at 90K so yours, if original, will defo be ready for scrap bin.

Im gonna take it to my indy tomorrow . Hes a member here his name is mnolan888 . Hes a great mechanic with a good knowladge of MBs and has only recently stated his owen garage .
I can usually spot a worn balll joint or bushing though , but I do reckon this one is beoyond me

At 143000 I've just had all the front balljoints done. Two tops were completly shot and one of the bottoms. The other was OK. Roll bar drop links also wear and the forward torque struts. All worth doing.
