03 W211 320 AVANTGARED (recent purchase) Looking under the bonnet for something unrelated, when I noticed rust patches on the cross member just in front of the engine, also numerous small patches on various brackets.
They don't look serious & could easily be touched up, but is this the start
of the dreaded virus?.The only other sign of rust is on what looks like an
anti-roll bar across the rear wheels. which is exposed below the underbody panels (I hav'nt looked closely at this yet so don't know what its purpose).
The car has full MBSH.
