It does look a bit sus. Looks like the 9 is sitting low as well due to being pulled down.

Strange how all these cars come up for sale just before they hit 100k miles.

It would need verifying.

The worst thing is that in 50k miles all of the finger prints and scratches will come around.

I've emailed him asking about the no mention of any service history to back the mileage up.

I also said it looks like it's been clocked ;)

Great question. I wonder if he'll display that one....

His reply within 5 mins of asking:

MILAGE GENUINE SPEDO PERFECT LAST SERVICE 3 MONTHS AGO NO HISTORY, NOT WOUND BACK CAR AS DISCRIBED PERFECT CAN NOT DISCRIBE ANY BETTER REGARDS PETER

And he has displayed it..........

Doesnt sound promising at all

It could just be that the 9 is beginning to push the 1 round so is under some load. It does happen.

It does look nice....possible a cheap repair to the front, then you would have a lovely flagship

At this age, you buy with your eyes.
150000 or 100000 will not make much difference to the price anyway or even 200000.
Estimate the mileage and price accordingly.

maybe i am a bit young but it looks like a grandfather clock to me

It's a nice car. A late registered pre face lift model.

I don't think it's been clocked. The 0 will start to move at this mileage figure. Mine did:

The seller has even posted the original question asked onto the public listing.

Since when has a 1985 car been 28 years old:confused:

My clock always goes out of line when its about to turn over a hundred or a thousand miles. After a few miles it always settles back to being bang in line again. My old 190 was the same. I think its just how these older Mercedes speedo's work.

The car looks lovely to me:cool:

I'm with Dave Lewis here.

Every time my '124s have clocked past and extra 10k miles, the first digit will start to move way before it get's near the "milestone".

My old 230E was just over 197k miles, pre write-off, and the "two" was already starting to come in to view.

He's been an eBay member since 2002 and has a feedback rating of 97.4%
If he was a new eBay member with just a few feedbacks I would be wary.
He's sold quite a few cars too... most recent Neg feedback was iffy though....

Car advertised as good - but is a CAT c total loss - ebayers BEWARE - donotbuy
