3 months in........

A range rover is a horrible horrible car IMHO.

I think the RR is the one car that is unanimously praised by my customers.
I can think of a dozen who have bought them in the last 3 years or so and it has stopped them from swapping cars every 6-12 months, they all say it is the only car they ever need, and they will only get rid of it for a newer one.

Now, don't get me wrong, a few have gone and bought something else as well, but can't think of any who have got rid of it completely.

I would take one in a heartbeat if someone were paying for it, and more importantly paying to run it for me. But then I would probably have a Disco over a RR.

I drove one. It was uncomfortable, noisy and slow. I thought one may do Dad over S class. How wrong was I? After driving one I promised myself two things. One, never do that again and two, never get too fat that I have to drive one.

3 Years ago i had a crazy 5 mins paid 72k for one and it was hateful, like driving a bus. Kept it 3 months and lost enough to buy an a class!!

Yeah it is like a bus.

You drive a C63 at the moment? That sort of tells me that a RR wouldn't really be your thing. :D

My ex's pal had one. Ex much preferred my E class as it was quieter and more comfortable.

The 'old' supercharged V8 had 385 bhp, the 'new' 5.0 supercharged V8 has 510bhp and the V8 diesel has 315bhp so I'm not sure why they are seen as being slow...

I think it would have been a good move to put the V8 diesel in the D4, but the 3.0 SDV6 I was in last week was very smooth and felt a lot quicker than my 2.7 TDV6 anyway.

I've done 4k in mine so far and it hasn't put a foot wrong.

Plus owners reckon they are seeing nearly 30mpg compared with nearer 20 on the older car, think that is the newer 8 speed 'box though rather than the 3 litre engine.

Before I put 22s on mine, I was getting 25-30mpg at a push, so anything above those figures is a bit more promising. They've got the aerodynamics of a brick though, so there's only so much you can squeeze out of them to be fair.

The problem with the RRS sport for me is the proper RR, i never have liked the Sport but the RR is all the car you could ever need

The best ive seen is 20mpg.... but when i dont have the kids it gets "driven"

DM - the results of my accident thanks to the shxt NHS is that I have Bi-Lat foot drop, driving a manual i physically have to move my whole leg between pedals and cant move my foot physically from left to right, i have no left to right or up and down movement in either foot... The 911 also didnt have up and down movement for the steering column, so my legs used to hit the wheel all the time, had a couple of scarey moments when i was coming into a corner quick and couldnt get to the brake quick enough, a couple of brown trouser moments....

As regards to the ML and most moden Mercedes (I think) it has a powered column so my legs have lots of room, its more comfortable and the AMG seats are great for my back...
