Did anyone just see on fifth gear the black W126 that matey paid £1K for? Did anyone else notice how p**s poor the paint was on the boot and wing? It had a lovely 'outspan' finish

To be fair all the sheds looked good and I know when we were looking for a challenge car £1K buys a LOT or metal. Not always in the best shape however

Let's keep this thing in context shall we?

The key thing is that this car was £1,000, not that this car was a Mercedes!

Ok, so the paintwork wasn't good for an S-class Merc, but it was fine for a one-bag motor. At that level you can't be an@l, and you can't expect perfection.

I'm talking about the person whom originally painted it. It would have cost no more for the sprayer to apply the paint properly.
